Only issued note on canal bank we have ever seen possible signed in 1849 by a forger and used at another bank as I have never read or known of Canal Bank ever actually using any of the currency they printed
Note it was signed prior to being cut which is normally how they signed these you can see signature loop from next note up on top of this note.
Ink also did have iron in it all indicating it was signed in 1849.
Note is otherwise uncirculated minor tear at the cut cancels which are the typical cross stamp cuts used at the time
No idea how to price this note as can find no auction or sales records of one ever selling went through stack of old Hugh Shull books as was intrigued by this note. None to be found.
