This is the eighth coin released in the 50 State Quarter Program. Reverse of this coin depicts the outline of the state, a Palmetto tree, the Carolina Wren, the Yellow Jessamine, The Palmetto State, and a star that indicates the capital, Columbia.

• Obverse: Features the profile of George Washington.

• Reverse: Depicts the outline of the state and three symbols, Palmetto tree, the Carolina Wren, the Yellow Jessamine. The Palmetto State the state's nickname and a star that indicates the state's capital, Columbia is also shown.
• Mint mark features a "P' for Philadelphia.
